Equate Pregnancy Test

For those trying to conceive, playing the waiting game is one of the hardest things to do. Because of this, many women end up purchasing loads of pregnancy tests. The thing is though, many of them start taking the tests too soon or they do not follow the instructions. If you are not able to take the test properly or when your body is capable of giving accurate results, you need to wait. You also want to make sure that you are going with a pregnancy test that you can trust.

Many women are told that the expensive tests are the best. However, upon careful inspection, you will find that the expensive tests and the lesser priced tests, such as the Equate pregnancy test, are about the same. For those who want to test as early as possible, it is important to make sure that you are aware of how sensitive the test is. This way, you will take it when the time is right. Also, you need to make sure that you are following the directions. This will help to keep you from wasting a lot of money on pregnancy tests. After all, the time when you are trying to conceive is not exactly the time you want to start wasting money.

Is the Equate type of pregnancy test sensitive enough? Many will agree that it is as it is able to measure 25 million atomic units (mIU) of your hCG. The hCG is a hormone produced in your body when you are pregnant. Every single pregnancy test out there requires a particular level of hCG to be found in order to give accurate test results. The less needed, the sooner you can test. For the majority of women, this means that roughly 14 days after her ovulation, she will be able to take a home pregnancy test and expect accurate results.

As far as taking the test itself, you are going to want to try to use urine from first thing in the morning. This is because this is the time when your urine is likely to have the highest concentration of the hCG that this pregnancy test is looking for. You will want to urinate into a disposable paper cup and put the test stick (the absorbent end) into the urine. Once the pink color starts to move through the 1st window, you can remove the stick.

Place the cap back over the absorbent tip and place the stick on a flat surface with the window facing up. You will want to find something to entertain yourself for about three minutes while the Equate pregnancy test does its thing. When you return, you are looking in the small window for a vertical line, which signifies that the test worked properly. In the next window, if you find a + sign, then you are most likely pregnant.

Upon receiving a positive home pregnancy test result, you are going to want to call to schedule an appointment with your doctor. This appointment will be to confirm your pregnancy and to get an estimated due date.
