When Can A Woman Get Pregnant?

If you are trying to start a family or increase the size of the family that you already have, then you are going to want to make sure that you are doing your best to learn when the best time is to have sex, in order to increase the chances of conception. The problem with this is that there is a lot of misinformation out there. The sad thing is, a lot of this misinformation has come from sex education teachers and even some doctors.
Many people have been told that a woman can become pregnant on any day during her cycle. This is completely untrue, although it may work in deterring teenagers from engaging in unsafe sex. The fact of the matter is, it is the day or two before ovulation that a woman has the best chances for becoming pregnant. Now all you have to do is to figure out when ovulation is. This is where more confusion comes in.
There have been doctors that, throughout the years, have told thousands, if not millions, of women that if they are on a 28 day cycle, that the 14th day will be the best day to conceive. This is, of course, assuming that you always have a 28 day cycle, as most women find that they do not. But let’s assume that you are on a 28 day cycle. Just because you are, does not mean that you are going to ovulate on day 14. You could be on a stead 28 day cycle but ovulate on the 10th day or even the 20th day. If you are only concentrating on having sex on the 14th day, this could be the reason why it is taking you so long to conceive.
What you need to do is to make use of other methods, other than counting days, to figure out just when it is that you are ovulating. There are tests or kits out there for this. You can check your body temperature for increases and do a number of other things. However, learning when you are ovulating can be as simple as watching for ovulation mucus, or cervical fertile mucus. This is mucus that will be egg-white in color and this will appear just a day or two before ovulation. Increasing your sexual encounters on those days will be the best for achieving conception.
As you can see, while there may have been a lot of misunderstandings about when women can become pregnant, figuring out just when that is is as simple as watching your body for the signs. After all, your body knows a lot more about the process than anyone else.
